No Title Yet

It was the morning of my last exam for that incredibly dreadful graduation year in college. I woke up all sweaty after a terrifying nightmare just to find out that mum’s forgotten to wake me up, she came in, pulled the cover away and then went out mumbling something about hair. Then thoughts started popping up my head…I’m late! ...OH Gosh, I’m late!! … Oh NO, get up get up get up.

“Psychology for blah blah blah”, was one of the hateful, if not the most hateful, to my heart. And Professor G has always been making sure of that. He always had his ways for embarrassing students in his class, and his assignments were…just undoable. At the end of the semester I was starting to think, it’s true that studying psychology can make a man go nuts, just like Professor G.

I hurried out of bed and rushed to the bathroom, and just as I was grabbing my tooth brush, I peeked in the mirror and I was just…struck, how can my hair grow that much over night? It was long and big with small curls. I actually looked worst than Bob Marley!!
I had no idea what to do I just kept brushing it to the back, it wasn’t easy with all these curls. I was thinking it must’ve been that weird juice-like liquid I drank yesterday to keep me up a little more.

I hardly managed to let my hair look … human, then I just grabbed a T-Shirt, put on my jeans and rushed outside. And to make my day, it was raining heavily. My hair was soaked wet as I ran down the street looking for a cab. People in the street looked terrifying, women had plastic bags over their heads and men were running for shelter. Cabs just passed by splashing more water drops into my face and there was always some lady inside with a wet dirty plastic bag on her head. And just as I was starting a breakdown, a bus came along to the nearby station like my salvation from the heavens. I ran towards it shouting and pushing people getting in the way. I caught it. I was inside. For less than a second, I was starting to feel a slight relief, until I felt the pushes of others who were obviously having a bad day finding a cab as well. In less than a minute, the bus was full with pale miserable faces and lots of them had wet dirty bags on.

I had to survive the trap I was caught in until finally I was able to see college. I jumped off the bus and ran towards my class. I got there just in time. Instructors were handing in the exam pape…..but these are not paper! The instructors were handing the students something that looked like an iron bar, the size of a thick notebook. I took my seat and read the instructions on the bar, it said, “This is not an iron bar, this is a box. Open the box and you shall find your exam inside, and more or less that will be it.” That sounded easy, everyone started looking at the box trying to find a lid somewhere. That lasted for about 15 minutes. Then everyone started banging it on the desks, throwing it on the floor, biting their nails and rubbing their cheeks.
It was useless, this is an iron bar, no way this can ever be a box. What happened to the good old days where professors used to just fix students a normal unsolvable exam in paper?
I was starting to lose all hope. I mean, after all, at least no one was able to open the weird black iron box.
We were running out of time, and there were only some few more minutes left when Professor G came in with a sparkle in his eyes and a short cunning smile shinning on his pitiless face. He looked at us and then with a sarcastic tune he said “Hey, punk heads, what’re you doin’, your exam papers are stuck under your desks”.

Voices roared among the classroom in amazement, why would he stick his exam under the desks. Is this one of those experiments he’s always conducting on us?
I saw no one looking down the desk or, I didn’t look, I didn’t wanna lose more time, I still had a bit of hope inside. My heart was beating real fast, and I could feel sweat running down my neck. I leaned my head to look under the desk, then I heard a voice…”Com’on champ, wake up, you have to hurry, the alarm clock didn’t ring on time this morning….hey by the way, don’t forget your rain coat, it’s raining outside.”, mum pulled the covers away and went out mumbling something about hair.
